Chimirri's & Project Healing Waters

I offered to help this local icon introduce a new confection that had been years in the making. As Veterans' Day was approaching, we decided to make the introduction a tribute to vets, many who are regulars at the bakery. I found the perfect partner in Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, a national organization with a Connecticut chapter, that helps disabled veterans.

 

Working together, we created a Veterans' Day celebration. All vets and their families were privy to free slices of the new Hartford Cream Pie. Vets from the program demoed the art of tying a fly.

The community came out to show their support as did the TV stations. The Hartford Cream Pie is now the shoppe's best seller and the event, a tradition and key fundraiser,
