Creative Director | Copywriter | Strategist

I am a writer. I work in marketing and communications. I have helped global brands, small businesses and nonprofits advance their vision. I am schooled in marketing and advertising, but always learning. No matter what the medium or the audience, I bring people and just the right message together to drive positive change. I have a knack for working with most anyone. I build relationships based on trust and respect. My passion is to make what matters, matter.

Thank you for stopping by. Here is my resumé.

About

It was a gift. I made a Father's Day card from print ads, some I wrote and some I "borrowed," clipping them from mom's Good Housekeeping. Years later, I studied marketing, graduating from the University of Connecticut. At my first class in advertising at Marymount Manhattan, I fell in love. I continued taking classes at The School of Visual Arts while gigging as a copy typist and reinventing my portfolio. More than a few times. My dream? To work for the best.

I started as a temp at DDB. Then, I was hired as a secretary. One year later, I landed my first job as a copywriter. I worked for and was surrounded by legends. I wrote on Audi, Cigna, Clairol, Hershey Foods, IBM, Michelin, Nabisco and Seagram's. Over the years, I've worked on aerospace/defense, arts & culture, education, entertainment, home improvement, insurance, public health and social services. In my spare time, I help bring business and nonprofits together, giving both visibility. I've raised awareness to help disabled veterans get outdoors and led a grassroots marketing effort to restore a public space. Whenever I can, I use my craft to do good.

I've won my fair share of awards: The One Show, Clio, Effie, New York Festivals. My work has been recognized by Adweek, Print, Creativity, The Wall Street Journal  Special Supplement, "When Copy Really Means Something" and Air Transport World/Ad of the Year. Big or small, corporate or cause, it's an honor to write another's story. Not to mention, a gift.

Here's more:

  • Words are my comfort food.

  • I wake & bake. Mostly crumb cake. Because who  doesn't like crumb cake for breakfast?

  • I appeared on stage at Citi Field with The Doobie Brothers. Okay, via Jumbotron.

  • I am an artist in residence. I practice flamenco and ballet at home and in the studio (Covid permitting).

  • I asked some high school students to help raise awareness about a park but they raised money, and awareness. Kids today.

  • I once flew in a B-24 Liberator like my dad did during WW 2.

  • My niece, an aspiring copywriter, is my role model.
